Weekend Haul

In no particular order here is what I bought :)

Cover Girl clean makeup in Buff Beige-the clean scent and the satin finish are what make me a faithful user.

Urban Decay All Nighter-it's been so hot here in LA, and the last thing I wanna worry about is having my makeup melt off so I added a setting spray to my makeup bag.

Prestige my BIGGEST lashes mascara: the packaging alone sold me :) I love Pink.

Sephora all over shadow brush: I feel that I never have enough shadow brushes so one more wouldn't hurt-especially not at $5.00 I couldn't pass this up.

Physicians Formula youthful wear translucent powder: intended to make you look 10 years younger....I'm not sure about that bUt it does smooth out my complexion.

What did you haul during the week?

Monthly Favorites-August

These are my monthly favorites, empties, and drugstore finds...

Ocean Potion sunblock in spf 70- the scent alone makes this worth buying. It doesn't smell like traditional sunscreens the smell reminds me of sorbet! :) Dries quickly, and leaves your skin feeling smooth.

NARS lipstick in Schiap-this lipstick has become my staple for the summer. The color is a sharp Pink that instantly adds light to my face.

MaryKay makeup remover- I can't get enough of this!! It removes all of my makeup without irritating my eyes or skin.

NYC Skin Perfecting Primer in Shade-lotion like texture with super fine shimmer particles that add a subtle glow, and smooth out your skin for an even complexion. It's not a miracle worker but if you're in a pinch this gets the job done.

Essence of Beauty Brush Cleaner-the smell is a bit strong but this really works to remove the stains from dark colors out of White makeup brushes.

Urban Decay Primer Potion-Greed

I finally jumped on the bandwagon!! I just discovered Urban Decay's eye base! I.bought it for $8.97 at Nordstrom Rack and have been wearing it everyday since then :) I got it in Greed (shimmery Gold) because of the shimmery finish it works really well with non matte eyeshadows. The texture is light weight, almost mousse like and dries quickly. It also intensifies the color of the eyeshadows. The applicator is angled and fits around the curves of the eye. The only thing I'm regretting is not buying the original primer potion because at $8.97, you can't pass this up! What's your favorite eye primer?

The pigmentation is great and the texture is really smooth. The only color that was not very pigmented was the Salmon shade (next to the Orange)

NYX Matte Lipstick

I bought this lipstick at Ulta in Butter. This is a matte formula, but I find it to be semi matte and very moisturizing. I actually appreciate this because I don't really like matte lipsticks. The color is a Brown Taupe and does not look so pretty in the tube but once swatched (to me at least) it resembled MAC's Chai lip glass. I figured I'd buy it just for that reason :) The packaging is simple and sleek, traditional twist up and down tube. There's also no scent to these lipsticks. Overall I give this lipstick and A- I would grade it and A but I think it's misleading to have matte printed on the tube and the product not being able to live up to the description. I'm sure matte lipstick lovers would be disappointed.
$5.99 at Ulta

Monthly Favorites: July

1. Maybelline Illegal Lengths mascara-lengthens and separates my lashes no clumps, no flakes!
2. Sinful Colors nail polish- this color is named Hazard. The shade is a bright Coral perfect for the summer.
3. Dove shampoo and conditioner Damage Therapy-these keep my hair hydrated, and smelling fresh.
4. Fake eyelashes no brand #108-I bought these on ebay 10 synthetic lashes for $2.99. Very natural looking but with noticeable length. They're great to wear to the pool, the beach, or when you just wanna skip mascara.
5. Silk Elements Olive oil Heat Spray-I always use this to protect my highlighted hair against the heat from my styling tools. It protects, adds shine, and smells awesome! I've noticed that since I started using this my I've had less breakage in my hair.
6. Sugar Fresh lip treatment- the scent, the moisture, the metal tube....I just LOVE this!

Miracle in a Bottle!!

I've never been a fan of MaryKay never even bought anything-ever... This past week
I attended a Mary Kay party and bought their eye makeup remover. The representative used a cotton pad with a bit of makeup remover and pressed it against my cousins eye and instantly removed her heavy eye makeup. It was so easy! Her eye makeup just melted off! No tugging, or rubbing. I was so impressed I had to buy it :) It's oil free and has no fragrance to it. I love that it doesn't irritate my eyes either orale them water. All I do is shake the bottle and use a cotton pad to remove my mascara. I've noticed that after I wash my face my eye area feels silky and hydrated. I highly recommend this product to everyone, especially those with sensitive eyes.

This is the way the liquid looks before you shake it :)

I can happily say that this makeup remover HAS replaced my use to be holy grail, Neutrogena's oil-free eye makeup remover.
What's your favorite eye makeup remover?

Lipstick I'm loving

I'm loving this shade! The color is a nude-pinky warm color and is a matte finish. It's a bit drying so I put on lip balm before I apply it for a smooth application. This is one of my many favorite nudes by far....the staying power is good, it doesn't wash me out ( I'm nc25 ) aNd it can be used during the day for a simple "no makeup" look and then pair it with smokey eyes for a night out. I love wearing this with Purple Haze eyeshadow and Warm Soul blush! Both by MAC.
